Brittany Mahomes has more courage than most Republicans

What do Republican politicians have in common with former professional soccer player, co-owner of the Kansas City Current of the National Women’s Soccer League, wife of three-time Super Bowl winner Patrick Mahomes II and expectant mother of two, Brittany Mahomes? Certainly not the courage to ignore the propaganda of the press.

Mahomes caused a stir earlier this month when he liked an August 13 post on former President Donald Trump’s Instagram page outlining the Republican platform for 2024.

Neither the 29-year-old nor her husband, a quarterback, have ever publicly declared loyalty to a political candidate. Yet Internet Anon users and self-described “Swifties” pounced on the Kansas City Chiefs darling for daring to show even the slightest sympathy for popular solutions like secure borders, tax cuts and banning men from women’s sports.

If Mahomes were anything like the GOP politicians in Congress, she’d probably try to avoid the controversy or cover it up to stay in the good graces of the latest cohort of Taylor Swift-inspired Chiefs fans and the press. But even after she stopped liking the post, Mahomes never fell over herself to comply with the mob’s demands.

Far too often, Republicans worried about what the wrong people think of them sacrifice their principles and the wishes of their constituents to score points with their partisan opponents and the establishment media. Senators and representatives don’t hesitate to give ground on key issues like abortion, in vitro fertilization, the border, religious freedom, Second Amendment rights, and more.

When they’re not pandering to the Democrats’ radical political whims, GOP politicians often refuse to hold tyrannical bureaucrats accountable for weaponizing the deep state against law-abiding Americans. Rather than using their platforms to skillfully expose the routine hoaxes of the propaganda press, many opt for toothless claims, empty threats and finger-wagging.

Mahomes, unlike the spineless cowards who infest the halls of Cannon, is not going to let a pressure campaign get her down, especially one that sought to demonize her for, as Vox put it, taking a “political stance that many feel is at odds with Patrick’s identity” as a biracial man.

Instead, she ignored the establishment media’s hair-splitting about her social media activities and “doubled down.”

“I mean, honestly, to be a hater as an adult, you have to have deep-rooted issues that you’ve been refusing to heal since childhood,” she wrote in her Instagram story on August 23. “There’s no reason your brain is fully developed and you hate when others are doing well.”

A few days later, she shared a post on her Instagram story urging her followers to respect people even if they have different beliefs.

“Contrary to the tone of the world today… you can disagree with someone and still love them. You can have different views and still be kind.” “Read that again!” she wrote.

Mahomes’ ability to “stop caring about what people think, especially people who don’t even know you” is not innate. As she explained during her appearance on the “WHOOP Podcast” on August 28, “social media used to be very personal to me.”

It was only when her husband helped her “get to the point where I know that I am strong in my personality, that I am confident in my personality, that I have confidence in my relationship and his, and that I have confidence in our life” that she was able to shake off the haters.

“Now, honestly, I don’t give a damn what people say about me,” Mahomes said. She later asked, “Why does it even have to matter what other people say?”

The bar to clear when it comes to dealing with controversy fueled by the corporate media is low, but Mahomes and her “DGAF” attitude toward the media’s whining have successfully cleared it. Republicans who are serious about delivering victories to their constituents should be more like Brittany and ignore the corrupt media’s attempts to make them believe their opinions are more important than those of the people who voted them in office.
