Boxes of “unique” shoes stolen from Penny Hardaway’s house

Police are searching for a salesman who stole boxes of exclusive shoes from the home of Penny Hardaway, the basketball coach of the Memphis team, earlier this month.

According to a Memphis Police report obtained by ESPN, a male suspect was filmed stealing the merchandise and pushing a shopping cart filled with the stolen packages near Hardaway’s home. Police have posted photos of the suspect online.

“Officers were advised that camera footage captured the man pushing a shopping cart and stealing several packages,” the police report states. Additionally, the man was last seen pushing the cart along Goodwyn Street and Central.

Memphis television station WREG, which first reported the news, pointed out that the boxes contained exclusive Foamposite shoes that are not available in stores. Nike’s Foamposite line, which Hardaway made famous as a star of the Orlando Magic in the 1990s, remains popular today.

Hardaway told the station that 26 pairs of “unique” Foamposite shoes were stolen.

Memphis Police spokesman Joseph Hibler told ESPN he could not provide any further information, adding that the investigation is still ongoing.
