RESTAURANTS: Bok-a-Bok suddenly closes two locations, including White Center
(Added: WCN photo)
Thanks to Sue for the tip. Book a book has abruptly closed two of its locations, including its original restaurant in White Center. Owner Brian O’Connor made the announcement on social media:
THAT HURTS
Effective immediately, the Bok a Bok White Center and the U-District have closed their doors.
Thank you to White Center for the last 8 years and thank you to U-District for the last 5 years
But numbers don’t lie.
While the third-party apps provided great exposure, they resulted in such low margins that those orders ultimately didn’t count.
We would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who believed in self-delivery and our goals, but didn’t get enough orders from the third-party apps to our website to make enough of a difference.
If you like us and want us to stay open, please visit Capitol Hill and Kirkland.
We reported on Bok a Bok here the evening before the opening on June 1, 2016. (The first day, the seats were sold out.) Previously, there was a short-lived restaurant in this space called Charlie’s Buns.
