Best build for every character

The Final Fantasy The franchise may have moved away from its turn-based roots in recent years, but the strategic element of the games is now more evident than ever. Players are encouraged to mix and match the members of their party to defeat any specific enemy in their path. Fans will need to upgrade their characters accordingly to gain different skills and stats. This is especially true for Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, as players must play optimally to have a chance of defeating Sephiroth.

Final Fantasy VII Rebirth includes 7 playable characters (Cloud, Tifa, Aerith, Barret, Red XIII, Yuffie, and Cait Sith), each of whom fulfills a different role in the player’s party. Although each of them has access to similar spells, they are differentiated by their signature abilities, so players must know which skills to prioritize.

Cloud Strife is the best all-rounder in Final Fantasy VII Rebirthas he has a variety of weapon skills to deal with any type of enemy. Fans might be tempted to use the signature Buster Sword throughout the game, but this only holds Cloud back. The Buster Sword has relatively weak stats (+22 ATK/ +22 MATK), but Cloud’s starting weapon has an ability that players will want to have later in the game.

Focused Thrust is a move where Cloud charges forward to thrust his sword into any enemies in his path. The ability is subpar in normal enemy encounters, but its ability to increase the stagger meter makes it a valuable tool against bosses, especially in encounters like Rufus and Sephiroth, who typically take a long time to stagger.

Since Cloud is an all-rounder, many different Materia can be used to make the most of his abilities. It’s best to equip Cloud with Materia that will also help his party, so using a healing Materia that will allow him to use Cure and its enhanced versions is a must. Otherwise, players should use the Rating Materia along with a balance of Strength and HP boost Materia. Cloud is the character that players have to use most oftentherefore, players must constantly look for ways to increase its strength.

All Final Fantasy Rebirth Locations, Ranked

Final Fantasy VII Rebirth recreates many of FF7’s memorable locations in stunning fashion. Which key locations are the best?

Tifa Lockhart has the lowest HP of all group members in Final Fantasy VII Rebirthbut she more than makes up for it with her barrage of quick punches and kicks. Due to Tifa’s excellent basic attacks, It is important that players do not waste too much magical materia on themas characters like Barret, Yuffie, and Cait Sith can all use it better. Tifa’s best weapon is Jårngreipr, the last weapon Tifa can acquire during the Hall of Elders mission. Jårngreipr has the best stats of Tifa’s weapons as it offers 86 ATK and 58 MATK, making it her most versatile weapon.

Due to Tifa’s low HP pool, it’s important to pair her with someone who has strong healing abilities. Tifa’s best Materia focuses on strength and magic, as her best ability, Unfettered Fury, deals both magic and basic damage. Overall, players should use Tifa on weaker opponents, as her ability to stagger opponents is rather subpar, aside from her special abilities.

Radiant protection

Although Aerith has the lowest HP of all playable characters in Final Fantasy VII Rebirthshe is still a formidable ally at your side. Aerith is the best healing unit in the gamebecause her base MATK is higher than any other character. This makes her spells significantly stronger than any other character in the game, so both her Materia and weapons must be optimized to make the most of this ability.

Aerith’s best ability, Radiant Ward, is one of the most complex but also one of the most effective abilities in the game. When Aerith uses Radiant Ward, she summons a circle in the arena. Any spells cast while the circle is closed are cast twice, allowing Aerith to fully heal an ally with one application of Cura. However, players should be warned because if Aerith is not protected by her allies, she is an easy target for enemies who can be defeated with very few hits. Therefore, players should pair Aerith with all-rounders like Cloud and Red XIII or tanks like Barret.

Barret Wallace is the most unique playable character in Final Fantasy VII Rebirth by far, like He has some of the best skills to attack and defend his allies. Barret has the largest HP pool in the game, allowing him to easily withstand many enemy attacks while his allies spend their time taking out enemies. Due to his firearm, Barret has the fastest attack rate, but it is best for players to utilize his Overcharge ability and take down enemies with his Charged Shot, which can significantly increase an enemy’s stagger meter.

While some of Barret’s abilities can do more damage in the late game, Barret’s best ability in most cases is Focused Shot, which can massively increase the stagger meter of pressured enemies. To make the most of Barret’s useful tanking abilities, players should make the most of HP Up Materia and Barrier Materia, which allow players to block enemy attacks. Overall, Barret is one of the best characters for Final Fantasy VII Rebirth and his significant encounter with the boss makes the most of his powerful abilities.

Final Fantasy VII Rebirth: How to make friends with Red XIII

Red XIII is one of the many characters Cloud can go on a “date” with in Final Fantasy VII Rebirth. What does it take?

Red XIII, like Cloud Strife, is capable of almost anything Final Fantasy VII Rebirthas he has multiple skills that can be used in almost any situation. Red XIII has some of the strongest basic attacks and his Vengeance Mode is one of the unique buffs in the game. This buff kicks in after players block or parry enough attacks and allows Red XIII to deal more damage and heal from his attacks.

Red XIII also has one of the most powerful utility skills in the game. When players use Watcher’s Respite, enemies will be damaged by Red XIII’s roar while allies will be healed by it. This massive area-of-effect ability is one of the best abilities in the game, so players should try to use it in most scenarios, especially in Vengeance mode. Overall, Red XIII may be an all-rounder like Cloud, but his defensive abilities make it important for players to learn how to parry and block properly before using any of his powerful abilities.

Yuffie Kisaragi is the fastest of the playable characters in Final Fantasy VII Rebirthbut that also means she has less HP than some of the slower characters like Barret and Cait Sith. Fortunately, Yuffie more than makes up for that with their ability to specifically attack certain weaknesses of the opponent without having to have magic materia equippedBy using the Elemental Ninjitsu ability, Yuffie can enhance her attacks with one of four elements, allowing her to defeat certain enemies that are vulnerable to those elements.

To get the most out of Yuffie’s versatile ability, players will need a mix of ATK, MATK, and Speed, so using Materia that boosts these things is the best way to play Yuffie. Overall, Yuffie may seem like a purely attack-oriented character, but her utility and targeted skills make her one of the most powerful characters in Final Fantasy VII Rebirth.

The 10 best Final Fantasy parties, ranked

Every Final Fantasy party member has lovable qualities, like Tidus’ infamous laugh or Cloud’s gruff personality. But which party is the best?

Cait Sith is by far the most difficult character to use effectively in Final Fantasy VII Rebirthas his dependence on luck means that his builds differ significantly from those of other characters. Cait Sith is best built with a mix of Luck-Up, MATK, and HP-Up materials, as Cait Sith benefits from powerful spells and has a large health pool. Additionally, Cait Sith can summon his Moogle to ride on him, giving him powerful Moogle abilities.

Cait Sith’s best ability, Roll o’ The Dice, relies entirely on the Luck stat to produce the best results. For this ability, Cait Sith rolls a die and depending on which side it lands on, something different happens. By increasing his Luck stat, Cait Sith can always ensure a positive result, so players should make sure they maximize this stat if they want to make the most of Cait Sith’s captivating potential.
