Bail set for Sherman Oaks home burglary suspect – NBC Los Angeles

Editor’s note: The previous version of the story incorrectly stated that the suspects were released on bail. The LAPD had said the men were “under supervised probation.”

Three men suspected of committing a home invasion robbery in Sherman Oaks were held behind bars Tuesday with bail set at $175,000.

According to the Los Angeles Police Department, officers were pursuing a black car used by the three suspects after they allegedly committed the crime around 9 p.m. Monday in the 15200 block of Greenleaf Street in Sherman Oaks.

According to police, the family’s nanny, who was at home at the time of the crime, was confronted by the robbers but was unharmed.

The three suspects, all in their twenties, were taken into custody early Tuesday morning after officers searched five different locations.

The men were identified as Isaiah Rankins (22), Juan Carlos Gonzalez (21) and Dion Hill (24).

The three Los Angeles residents were taken to the 77th Street Jail, where they were arrested for burglary and robbery.

Bail for each suspect was set at $175,000, taking into account bail increases for previous burglaries and a suspended sentence for possession of firearms.

While investigating the suspects’ homes, officers found property that may have been stolen from the Sherman Oaks home, the LAPD said.

Police Chief Dominic Choi said in a statement that the quick arrest of the suspects was the result of joint efforts by several LAPD agencies.

“The collaboration of the Los Angeles Police Department’s various law enforcement and investigative agencies made this case a success,” Choi said. “We will continue to use our resources to combat residential burglaries in Encino, West Los Angeles and all other Los Angeles neighborhoods plagued by criminals.”
