Atlanta Hawks vs. Indiana Pacers

The Atlanta Hawks play their first preseason game tonight against the Indiana Pacers and have just announced their starting lineup.

Trae Young, De’Andre Hunter, Dyson Daniels, Jalen Johnson and Clint Capela will be the first five on the floor for the Hawks tonight. It’s not clear how many minutes each player will play tonight, but this is the starting lineup Quin Snyder will play with tonight. Onyeka Okongwu and Bogdan Bogdanovic will not play tonight.

The Pacers start Tyrese Haliburton, Andrew Nembhard, Aaron Nesmith, Pascal Siakam and James Wiseman.

What does head coach Quin Snyder expect from his team tonight? He talked about it earlier this week:

“Like you said, it’s a data point, you know, I think more than anything, you know, I want us to execute with the same focus on defense that we want to implement on offense,” and really understand the connection between what we do on offense and really understand the connection between what we do on offense and how it affects our defense. You know, something as simple as a guard driving to the basket and putting the ball in, we suddenly have an unbalanced floor. The other thing that’s above that, I think, is just our communication. And that’s a challenge I think in general, getting the guys out. Part of it is knowing what to say. So I would say the relationship on both sides of the ball really impacts your level.

Spread and Over/Under: The Hawks will be underdogs at home tonight as they are currently 2.0 point underdogs with the over/under at 227.5 according to the latest odds from Fanduel Sportsbook.
