Atlanta Falcons place rookie EDGE Bralen Trice on the injured list, ending his season

One of the top prospects of the 2024 NFL Draft was benched for the season as the Atlanta Falcons Washington beginner Bralen Trice on the injured list. The team announced the news on Sunday.

Trice was injured in his team’s first preseason game on Friday. He suffered a knee injury and had to leave the game in the second quarter.

The injury was confirmed by the team shortly afterward, as Trice needed assistance off the field after pressuring the passer on a third-down play. He was escorted off the field by two team trainers.

This injury occurred shortly after the former Huskies star had a promising start to the preseason.

Bralen Trice had already fought his way up the rankings and was named the backup outside linebacker. Arnold Ebiketie. He expected to have a significant impact in his first season.

The Atlanta Falcons selected Trice in the third round of the 2024 NFL Draft, picking him number 74 in the draft. The star pass rusher had previously had a successful college career.

Trice began his career in Washington in 2019 and was undrafted in his first season, then sat out the entire 2020 season and opted out due to COVID-19.

The rest of his career was spectacular.

Bralen Trice played in all 12 games in 2021, his first real game appearance. He started two games, his highlight being when he returned a fumble 72 yards and scored a touchdown in a win against State of ArkansasHe also had two sacks in a game against State of Arizona.

Things only went uphill from there. He started 12 games in 2022 and played in 13, earning his way onto the 2022 All-Pac-12 First Team. He recorded 38 tackles, 12.0 tackles for loss and 9.0 sacks.

Even though Trice faced more scrutiny from opposing offenses in 2023, he was still very productive, recording 49 tackles, 11.5 tackles for loss, and 7.0 sacks. He also forced a fumble, recovered a fumble, and broke up two passes.

For this work, Trice was again named to the All-Pac-12 first team and was also named a third-team All-American by the Associated Press.

Needless to say, Bralen Trice’s injury is unfortunate for the Falcons.
