Arizona Cardinals WR Marvin Harrison Jr. reacts after dominating the Rams

ARIZONA – In Week 2, a star was born for the Arizona Cardinals.

Marvin Harrison Jr., selected No. 4 overall, got off to a slow start in Week 1 when he made just one catch, attracting a lot of attention.

On Sunday it was different.

In Arizona’s 41-10 victory over the Los Angeles Rams, Harrison recorded four pass catches for 130 yards and two touchdowns.

“It was solid. I think the offense played a good game. We definitely did a good job in both the running and passing game,” Harrison said after the dominant performance.

“I looked at (QB) Kyler (Murray)’s stats and he had four incomplete passes, all to me. I’m not very happy about that. I definitely need to get that right, but we’ll continue to work on our chemistry as the season goes on.”

Harrison has already experienced the rollercoaster ride that an NFL season can offer in the space of two weeks.

“You can never get too high or too low. Last week I knew I couldn’t get too low. This week I’m not going to get too high after a successful day,” he told reporters after the game.

“I try to approach every game with the same attitude, the same preparation and the same routine. No matter what the results are. If things go badly, of course I have to change some things. I have never doubted my confidence in myself or the rest of the team, so we will continue to get better every week and continue to grow.”

Harrison-Kyler Murray has the potential to be one of the best in the league and we saw that flash against the Rams.

“I think it’s great, honestly. His ability, his skill, he can do everything on the football field. From the pocket to extending plays. I think I do a good job of getting free when the play breaks down and that’s one of his best skills,” Harrison said of Murray.

“When I’m in the pocket and I have everything on time, I feel like I’m a pretty good route runner. I can get free on time and on schedule and from there we just do our thing.”

The Cardinals have long stated that they expect to have one of the best offensive units in the league next season.

After 41 points and nearly 500 yards on offense, this could well be the case.

“I think we have the best offense in the NFL inside the building – talent-wise, coaching-wise. With No. 1 (Murray) back there, we believe we can do anything,” Harrison said.

“I think we need to continue to show that, improve every week and we’re going to keep getting better. Obviously the whole offense didn’t have a lot of action in the game. It’s only the second game, so we’re going to keep improving and I’m super excited to see where we go from here.”
