Are the Eagles playing today? Schedule, time for the next Philadelphia football game

The Philadelphia Eagles will get a much-needed break in Week 5.

Philadelphia is 2-2 on the young season and is fortunate to be on the outside looking in when Week 5 begins on Sunday afternoon. The Eagles have not been healthy the last few weeks and their bye week couldn’t have come at a better time.

The Eagles are one of four teams facing a bye in Week 5. Philadelphia is joined by the Detroit Lions, Los Angeles Chargers and Tennessee Titans.

Philadelphia will return to action in Week 6 on Sunday, October 13th at 1 p.m. ET at home at Lincoln Financial Field against the Cleveland Browns.

The Eagles have been missing some key pieces and could get some back for their Week 6 game against Cleveland. There is a realistic possibility that both AJ Brown and DeVonta Smith can return to bolster the offense. Smith was dealing with a concussion and Brown was dealing with a hamstring injury.

Another player to watch is five-time Pro Bowler Lane Johnson. He also suffered from a concussion and his recovery is progressing.

It’s nice that the Eagles have an early bye so they can overcome these serious injuries. But with no game scheduled for this week, the conversation has gone completely off the rails. The Eagles are 2-2, but they will be fine. Injuries are the main reason the Eagles are in this spot and they should get reinforcements back. There was even talk about taking a chance as a head coach, but that didn’t happen.

The Eagles won’t play on Sunday but will be back soon.
