MIAMI – It will be scorching hot again on Thursday. The National Weather Service has issued a heat warning for Miami-Dade and Broward until 6 p.m., as the perceived temperatures are between 40 and 43 degrees. A heat warning has been issued for the Florida Keys until 7 p.m., as the perceived temperatures are up to 40 degrees.

A few showers moved across parts of South Florida on Thursday morning. Due to drier Saharan air, the chance of rain remains low for the rest of the day.

The afternoon will be mostly dry but hotter, with highs reaching near 30 degrees. There is a high risk of rip currents on Atlantic beaches and swimming in the ocean is unsafe. Small boats should be cautious in Atlantic and Keys waters due to easterly winds of 10 to 15 knots, gusting to 20 knots, and 3 to 5 foot waves. Moderate swells will be present in the bays.

Seasonal heat is coming

Friday will be another mostly dry and very hot, humid day. Heat warnings are likely to be issued as highs will rise to just under 30 degrees and feels are expected to rise above 30 degrees. There may be isolated showers and a few thunderstorms, but the chance of rain remains low.

This weekend will be humid, increasing the chance of rain, but it will not be a downpour. Isolated thunderstorms are possible on Saturday and Sunday. Maximum temperatures will be just over 30 degrees, as is usual for the season, with perceived temperatures over 38 degrees.
