Amber Alert issued for missing 5-year-old boy in Wichita

WICHITA, Kansas (KWCH) – An Amber Alert has been issued for a five-year-old boy who was reportedly abducted by his father from a home in the 2000 block of South Grove in Wichita. Wichita Police say Trevawn Strong Jr. is “in immediate danger.”

Police said the boy was forcibly abducted from his mother by his father, Trevawn Strong Sr., just before 5 p.m. Police said the father was armed with a knife and a handgun during a domestic dispute at their home. Police said Strong Sr. threatened to kill the boy and stabbed the boy’s mother before abducting him.

According to police, Trevawn Strong Sr. exited the vehicle, which was later found in the 1900 block of North Woodlawn.

Trevawn Strong Jr. was last seen wearing a white T-shirt, black shorts and black shoes. The boy has a ponytail, police said.

Trevawn Strong Sr. is 30, approximately 5’10” tall and weighs approximately 175 pounds. He has brown eyes, long hair, facial hair, and tattoos on his arms, chest, neck, and under his right eye. He was last seen wearing a white T-shirt, gray shorts, and red shoes.

“Call 911 immediately if you have seen the missing child or suspect. If you have any additional information about the missing child, call 911 or 316-383-4661,” police advise.
