Alex Soros, George’s son, consults with Tim Walz at a meeting in his New York apartment

Alex Soros, son of a billionaire financier George Sorosmet with Democratic vice presidential candidate Tim Walz and received him in his New York apartment.

“It is an honor to host Governor Tim Walz at my home in New York City!” Soros wrote in an X-post on Tuesday.

Soros, 38, has been politically active since taking over the reins from his father, donating millions to political committees designed to help Democrats win elections and supporting various left-wing efforts.

Alex’s social media profiles feature dozens of pictures of him and leading Democrats in the House and Senate since 2018.

The two most common are Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer from New York and then-Speaker of the House of Representatives Nancy Pelosi from California.

A few weeks ago, he posted a photo with Vice President Kamala Harris and wrote: “Nice to meet again with Vice President (Kamala Harris) recently!”

Alex has also donated millions to Democrats in recent years, though far less than his father. Since the 2018 election, Alex has contributed more than $5 million to federal coffers. Records show his largest donation during that time was $2 million to the Schumer-aligned Senate Majority PAC.

Alex contributed over $700,000 to the Biden Victory Fund in 2020, making him one of its largest donors.

He has donated hundreds of thousands of additional cash to the Nancy Pelosi Victory FundDemocratic National Committee and Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC). He also donated tens of thousands more to state Democratic parties and individual campaigns, many of which were top donations.

It is unclear whether and how much Alex donated to Harris-Walz’s election campaign.
