Activists around Greta Thunberg block parts of a Norwegian gas processing plant | Lifestyle News

Oslo: Swedish climate activist Greta Thunberg and activists from the environmental group Extinction Rebellion blocked a small oil terminal that is part of the Norwegian Kaarstoe gas processing plant on Saturday.

Gas exports from Kaarstoe to Europe are not affected, Equinor, the power plant’s technical service provider, told Reuters.
“There are activists trying to block our seaborne oil terminal and some land access,” a company spokesman said.

The oil terminal processes condensate and has a “very low production,” she added. Greta Thunberg, born in 2003, is a Swedish environmental activist who gained international recognition with her climate change campaign.

She began her activism at the age of 15, when she skipped school to protest in front of the Swedish Parliament building, holding a handmade sign that read “Skolstrejk för klimatet” (School Strike for Climate).

Thunberg’s message is loud and clear, demanding that immediate action is needed to tackle the climate crisis and reduce greenhouse gas emissions to limit global warming to 1.5°C above pre-industrial levels.
Her activism has inspired millions of people around the world and she has become a leading voice on climate issues around the world.
