VIRGINIA — If you want to enjoy Mexican cuisine in Virginia, the best dishes can be found at District Taco, according to a new list.
To put together a new column showcasing the best Mexican restaurants in every state, cooking website LoveFood.com looked at user reviews, awards and accolades to find out which establishments residents flock to for their fix of tacos, fajitas and guacamole. Staff members also took into account personal experiences when compiling the list.
According to the list, District Taco is worth a visit in Virginia.
District Taco, which has locations in four states and the District of Columbia, began as a food truck in Arlington’s Rosslyn neighborhood in 2009. The restaurant now has locations in Alexandria, Arlington, Falls Church, Vienna, Springfield, McLean and Norfolk, with a new location in Chesapeake in the works.
“The cuisine is inspired by the Yucatán, the home region of owner Osiris Hoil, and everything is prepared and served fresh daily with a focus on healthy, sustainable foods,” wrote the staff at LoveFood.com.
District Taco also receives high praise in online reviews, with the fish tacos and breakfast burritos frequently mentioned.
“First off, I want to say I love District Taco! There’s nothing like it where I live and I took full advantage of that in DC! It’s fast, easy, and delicious,” raved one Yelp reviewer.
