“A Quiet Place: Day One” comes exclusively to Paramount+ on August 27 | News

It’s the film that captivated audiences this summer, and on Tuesday it will be available to stream on Paramount+.

Paramount+ has announced that the highly anticipated film “A Quiet Place: Day One,” a gripping thriller that delves into the chilling origins of this horror phenomenon, will stream exclusively on the service in the U.S. and Canada beginning Tuesday, August 27.

The box office hit grossed $100 million worldwide, setting a franchise record for the biggest opening. The film has grossed over $261 million worldwide, cementing its place as the standout film in the franchise.

The film continues the terrifying saga of the “A Quiet Place” universe and takes viewers back to the time when the world fell silent. Lupita Nyong’o plays Samira, whose simple journey home to New York City turns into a nightmare when mysterious creatures that hunt using sounds attack. Along with her cat Frodo and an unexpected ally, Eric (played by Joseph Quinn), Samira embarks on a dangerous journey through a silent city where the only rule is to remain silent in order to survive. Djimon Hounsou And Alex Wolff also appear in the thriller.

In a recent interview with BET, Nyong’o spoke about her foray into horror, mentioning the growing presence of black actors in the genre. “We want to stay alive,” she joked. “The tide has turned. I feel very lucky to be able to contribute to the diversity of cinema today. It’s nice to see us in new spaces, both in front of and behind the camera, and to be part of the global conversation.” Nyong’o’s portrayal of Samira was a masterclass in suspense and survival, blending her unique strength and vulnerability to create a character that audiences root for.
