Moving into your first home can be exciting, but in today’s story, moving day turns into a nightmare when the new homeowners meet their neighbors.

It can go either way, but in this case it was definitely a thumbs down.

Let’s see how the story continues…

My friends bought their very first home shortly after he and his wife graduated from college.

They had spent their entire married life in a “marital home,” which essentially consisted of a one-room apartment on campus.

It goes without saying that they were thrilled to have their very own apartment and so much space.

Their neighbor started complaining the same day they moved in.

On the very first day, just hours after they moved in, their neighbor started yelling at them and screaming that they should move their cars or he would not only have them towed but also file a trespassing charge because they were on his property.

My friends were freaked out and didn’t know what to do. They were just sure that their realtor had told them that the gravel driveway and the small piece of land that connected the driveway to their house was theirs.

So they initially parked their cars right in front of their house (practically on their lawn).

The neighbor covered the driveway with earth.

In the meantime, the neighbor had rented a bulldozer and parked it on the site that supposedly belonged to him.

He piled up mountains of earth and blocked the access to the gravel driveway.

OP decided to do some research.

Since I work as a social worker for the state, I know some people at the local court.

I called a few people and was referred to someone who was able to get me a copy of a land survey that had been done on my friend’s property.

After pulling some strings, I managed to get a copy of it.

Things are getting really good here.

As I tell this story, I almost want to jump up and down again.

It turned out that the neighbor had lied.

You see, the land survey showed that the gravel driveway and the small piece of land connecting it to my friend’s house belonged to YOU.

The crazy neighbor actually committed trespassing by leaving his rented bulldozer on their property.

And what makes it even better is that he had used that bulldozer to destroy their property by piling huge mounds of dirt everywhere.

A police officer explained the situation to the neighbor.

So I told my friends and they called the police (there was no way to talk to this man).

The policeman was just wonderful.

He explained to the neighbor that it was a trespass and that he had to remove the bulldozer immediately. He was lucky because his neighbors had waived their right to file charges against him for destruction of their property on the condition that he return the driveway to its original condition so that it would be passable by the owners.

Of course, the neighbor has not caused any further problems for my friends and avoids them at all costs.

The neighbors should have filed a report!

This person is curious whether the neighbor told the previous owners that the driveway also belongs to him.

That serves him right!
