A Florida woman wins the top prize of $2 million in a scratch-off game

A Florida woman won the $2 million grand prize in a $10 scratch-off game.

The Florida Lottery recently announced that Pamela Funk of Old Town won a $2 million top prize on the $10 Gold Rush Doubler scratch-off game.

The Dixie County woman elected to receive her winnings as a one-time lump sum payment of $1,370,000.00.

The Florida woman bought her winning ticket at Old Town Shell, 25850 Southeast US Highway 19 in Old Town. The retailer received a bonus commission of $4,000 for selling the winning scratch-off ticket.

She picked up her winnings at the lottery’s Gainesville District Office.

The $10 GOLD RUSH DOUBLER scratch game offers more than 10 million winning tickets and over $261 million in total cash prizes.

The game’s overall winning probability is 1 in 3.45.

Scratch-off games are an important part of the Lottery’s game portfolio, accounting for approximately 74 percent of ticket sales in the 2023-2024 fiscal year. Additionally, since their inception, scratch games have awarded more than $63.1 billion in prizes, created 2,175 millionaires and generated more than $19.24 billion for the state’s Educational Enhancement Trust Fund (EETF).

The Florida Lottery is responsible for contributing more than $46 billion to improving education and sending more than 983,000 students to college through the Bright Futures Scholarship Program. The Florida Lottery reinvests 99 percent of its revenues into the Florida economy through prize payouts, commissions to more than 13,600 lottery retailers and transfers to education.
