Former Wheel of Fortune host Pat Sajak and his longtime co-star Vanna White were spotted having lunch together just days before Ryan Seacrest’s debut as the game show’s new host.
Sajak, 77, and White, 67, were in good spirits last Tuesday as they left lunch at California Pizza Kitchen in Encino, Calif., according to new photos obtained by Page Six.
White wore a bright smile and wore a cheerful, bright pink short-sleeved dress. She also carried a clutch and wore casual flip-flops.
Sajak looked dapper in a blue and white button-down shirt tucked into white pants.
The two television personalities remained close to each other and were at one point seen hunched over White’s cell phone.
The dynamic duo is rarely photographed together outside of the set of their show – even though they have been co-hosts for nearly four decades.
White joined the popular show in 1982, while Sajak began his job as host a year earlier. During his time on the competition series, the TV veteran received 19 Daytime Emmy nominations, winning twice, as well as two Primetime Emmy Award nominations, which he won in 2024.
In June 2023, Sajak announced that he would step down from his position and remain involved as an advisor for the next three years.
“Well, the time has come. I have decided that our 41st season, which begins in September, will be my last,” Sajak tweeted and added: “It was a wonderful journey.”
Shortly after Sajak announced his plans to quit his hosting job, Seacrest, 49, announced that he would take over his post.
“I am truly honored to follow in the footsteps of the legendary Pat Sajak,” the former “American Idol” host wrote in a social media statement.
“I can say, like the rest of America, that it was a privilege and a pure joy to have Pat and Vanna (White) on our television screens for 40 unprecedented years, making us smile every night and making us feel at home.”
Seacrest praised Sajak and shared how excited he was to work with White.
The news came just months after Seacrest announced his departure from “Live with Kelly and Ryan” in February 2023 after six years – he taped his final episode in April of this year.
Seacrest will make his debut as host of “Wheel of Fortune” on Monday at 7:30 p.m. EST on ABC.
