VIDEO: Lions cheer after the game against Rams: “It’s hard to beat us”

The Detroit Lions have won 21 of their last 28 regular season games. Wait, I just had to check that four times to make sure I wasn’t hallucinating.

In any case, the victories are so regular that you could almost take them for granted. Victory Mondays, Dan Miller’s best calls of the week – they have become such a weekly routine that it is hard to imagine a football week without them.

But if there’s one thing I will literally never get bored of or take for granted, it’s Dan Campbell’s post-game speeches. The Lions head coach is perhaps the best in the league when it comes to pre- and post-game speeches, managing to come up with off-the-cuff quips that are authentic and usually avoid tired cliches.

After Sunday’s comeback win against the Los Angeles Rams, Campbell was back in top form in the Lions’ locker room after the game.

“This team gave it everything they had, man,” Campbell said. “They did. They threw everything at us, man, and you have to give them credit for that. They gave it everything they had, but the bottom line is, it’s hard to break us. It’s hard to break us. In fact, you’re not going to be able to.”

That’s a strong line and a testament to how far this team has come. The Lions have blown countless leads in their down-and-out history, and that would have been the end. But on Sunday, after seeing their 14-point lead quickly melt away in the second half, they never gave up. The defense got the stop it needed, the offense made a drive to tie it, and then David Montgomery absolutely crushed the Rams in overtime. Just when it looked like the Rams had beaten Detroit, the Lions played their Uno reverse card and handed Matthew Stafford and Co. another heartbreaking loss.

The rest of the video is definitely worth watching, with Campbell praising Montgomery’s performance and Alex Anzalone for his strong defensive effort.
