Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill was handcuffed outside of Hard Rock Stadium in Miami just hours before the Dolphins were scheduled to play against Jacksonville. However, Hill was released and plans to play, according to his agent.
Hill was arrested by police for an unspecified traffic violation. Shortly before 11:00 a.m. Eastern Time, photos of Hill in handcuffs began circulating on social media.

“I just left Tyreek and he’s getting ready to play today,” Hill’s agent Drew Rosenhaus told ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
“Sources tell me Tyreek Hill has been charged with reckless driving for his incident with police outside the stadium,” ESPN’s Jeff Darlington reported from the scene. “After being pulled over, he got into a verbal altercation with police. The officer handcuffed Hill. He was charged and released after the situation was de-escalated.”
The Dolphins released a statement about Hill: “This morning, WR Tyreek Hill was stopped for a traffic accident approximately one block from the stadium and briefly detained by police. He has since been released. Several teammates witnessed the incident and stopped to offer assistance. Tyreek and all other players involved arrived safely at the stadium and will be available for today’s game.”
