Wisconsin opened its season on August 30 with a red-zone offense that still seemed to be in preseason form. The Badgers, who were favored by 24 points, needed a fourth-quarter rally to defeat Western Michigan 28-14.
While FCS opponent South Dakota is unlikely to beat the Badgers on Saturday, it would probably be a good idea for UW to find some rhythm now that September is well underway.
It will be important for the Badgers to better execute their passes inside the 20-yard line against the Coyotes before No. 4 Alabama visits Camp Randall next weekend.
