Here’s a look at the cast and the other shows they’ve worked on.
Just in time for the beginning of autumn, the new Netflix series for binge-watching has been released: “The Perfect Couple”.
“The Perfect Couple” is based on the bestselling novel of the same name by Elin Hilderbrand and is about the wealthy Winbury family, whose head is the crime writer Greer Garrison Winbury (Nicole Kidman) and her husband Tag Winbury (Liev Schreiber).
The Winburys have spared no expense for the wedding of their son Benji (Billy Howle), which will take place at their estate in Nantucket, MA.
However, the picture-perfect wedding is put on hold when a body is found on the beach right in front of the family’s house on the morning of the ceremony – and all the wedding guests are suspected.
Business Insider took a look at the cast and their performances ahead of the new series.
Nicole Kidman plays Greer Garrison Winbury, a crime writer and matriarch of the Winbury clan.
As audiences see in the first episode of the series, Greer is a formidable force.
The celebrated crime writer has become a celebrity herself through her fairytale romance about her marriage into a high-society family like the Winburys.
She is also obsessed with maintaining her family’s flawless image and has doubts about her son’s choice of wife.
Kidman has been nominated for five Academy Awards (she won Best Actress in 2003 for her performance in the 2002 film The Hours) and is the biggest star of the cast.
While the Australian actress made a name for herself in films such as “Moulin Rouge” and “Eyes Wide Shut,” she has turned to more television roles in recent years.
Her recent television projects include “Big Little Lies,” “Roar,” “Nine Perfect Strangers,” and “The Undoing.”
Kidman collaborated on “The Undoing” with Susanne Bier, who directed all six episodes of “The Perfect Couple.”
Liev Schreiber plays Tag Winbury, whose family legacy and fortune stretches back generations.
The laid-back Liev is used to a life of leisure. He inherited the huge estate on Nantucket, known as Summerland, from his wealthy parents.
Schreiber is perhaps best known for his role in the long-running Showtime television drama “Ray Donovan,” in which he played a professional fixer.
The actor also appeared in several “Scream” films, “Spotlight” and “X-Men Origins: Wolverine.”
Abby Winbury, who married into the family, is played by Dakota Fanning.
When we meet her in the first episode, Abby Winbury is expecting her first child with Benji’s older brother Tom.
Fanning starred in “Ripley,” another Netflix series, and the horror film “The Watchers” earlier this year.
The actress rose to fame as a child through her unforgettable roles in “Uptown Girls,” “War of the Worlds,” and “Wilbur and Charlotte.”
Audiences may also know Fanning from her role as a vicious vampire in the “Twilight” saga.
Her other notable roles include “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood” and “The Alienist.”
Eve Hewson plays Amelia Sacks, the bride.
Amelia is a down-to-earth zookeeper who caught the Winburys’ middle son’s eye at work, so it’s not hard to understand why she feels like a fish out of water in Summerland.
Hewson, the daughter of U2 frontman Bono, previously appeared in the Netflix thriller “Behind Her Eyes,” which is also based on a book.
The Irish actress is also known for her role in Apple TV+’s “Bad Sisters.”
Her film credits include Flora and Son and the 2018 version of Robin Hood, in which she played the title role of Maid Marian alongside Taron Egerton.
Meghann Fahy plays Amelia’s maid of honor, an influencer named Merritt Monaco.
Merritt is Amelia’s best friend, which apparently goes against the grain for the Winburys.
Fahy is probably best known for her role as the spectacular Daphne in the second season of The White Lotus.
Viewers may also know her from her role on Freeform’s “The Bold Type” and her appearances on “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit,” “Chicago Fire” and “Gossip Girl.”
Billy Howle plays Benji Winbury, Amelia’s groom and Winbury’s golden boy.
Benji is Greer and Tag’s favorite. Benji is a talented painter and idolizes his future bride.
British actor Howle has appeared in the crime series “The Beast Must Die,” “The Serpent,” and “Under the Banner of Heaven.”
Netflix subscribers may know him from his role as Edward, Prince of Wales, in the film “Outlaw King.”
Jack Reynor plays Benji’s older brother, Thomas Winbury.
As the eldest Winbury son, Thomas has done his best to live a life his parents would approve of: he works on Wall Street, has a good marriage, and will soon give them their first grandchild. But behind the facade of perfection, Thomas is struggling.
Reynor’s notable film roles include Midsommar, Transformers: Age of Extinction, and Macbeth.
He previously starred alongside Eve Hewson in the Apple TV+ film “Flora and Son.”
Sam Nivola plays Will Winbury, the youngest member of the Winbury family.
Will is the groom’s teenage brother and the youngest of the Winburys.
Nivola is the son of British actress Emily Mortimer and her husband Alessandro Nivola.
He previously played Leonard Bernstein’s son in Bradley Cooper’s Oscar-nominated “Maestro” and starred in the films “White Noise” and “Eileen.”
Ishaan Khatter plays Shooter Dival, the best man and Benji’s childhood friend.
Shooter is treated like an honorary member of the Winbury family because he has known Benji since they went to boarding school together.
Khatter, the son of Bollywood stars Rajesh Khattar and Neelima Azeem, previously starred in the films “Beyond the Clouds” and “Pippa.”
Michael Beach plays the chief of the local police, Dan Carter.
Dan and his daughter Chloe live nearby and know all about the wealthy Winburys, even though they have had little reason to associate with them in the years they have lived on Nantucket.
Audiences may know Beach from his roles as Al Boulet in the medical drama “ER” and as TO Cross in “Sons of Anarchy.”
More recently, he starred in “Mayor of Kingstown” and “Dead Boy Detectives.”
Donna Lynne Champlin plays Nikki Henry, an out-of-town detective who is called in to solve the murder.
Nikki is a sober detective who, unlike everyone else on Nantucket, does not submit to the Winburys.
Champlin previously worked with “The Perfect Couple” director Bier on the television series “The First Lady,” but she is perhaps best known for her role as Paula Proctor in the sitcom “Crazy Ex-Girlfriend.”
Mia Isaac plays Chloe Carter, the teenage daughter of the local police chief.
Although Chloe doesn’t move in the same circles as the Winburys, she was only allowed to enter their kingdom for one day because she got a job as a waitress at the wedding.
Viewers may have seen Isaac in the television series “Black Cake” or the satirical comedy “Not Okay,” in which she starred alongside Zoey Deutch.
Isabel Nallet, a close friend of the Winbury family, is played by Isabelle Adjani.
Isabel, whose ties to the Winbury family go back a long way, traveled from France especially to attend the wedding.
The French actress is known for her roles in the films “Possession” and “The Story of Adèle H.”
The latter earned her an Oscar nomination for Best Actress in 1976.
