Packers quarterback’s cruciate ligament “still intact”

The condition of Green Bay Packers quarterback Jordan Love, who left Friday’s game with an apparent leg injury in the final seconds of the loss to the Philadelphia Eagles, remains unclear. However, as the Packers’ flight nears its landing point in Wisconsin, several reports have shed some light on what Love’s injury actually is — or, in this case, isn’t.

At this point, the Packers have ruled out an ankle injury for Love. He will receive an MRI after the team flight lands Saturday morning, according to Diana Russini of The athlete.

Fans, experts and medical professionals sharing their opinions on social media believed Love may have suffered an ankle injury, but the latest news from the Packers — and a video of the injury itself — confirms that’s not the case.

Unfortunately, the video, which appears to show Love’s knee cracking as he is awkwardly hauled to the ground between Eagles defensive linemen Jalen Carter and Josh Sweat, leaves open the possibility of a knee injury.

What type of knee injury does Jordan Love have?

If it’s not an ankle injury, it’s most likely a knee injury of some sort. It’s not yet clear exactly what type of knee injury it is, but initial tests on Love have shown that his anterior cruciate ligament is “still intact,” according to Tom Pelissero of the NFL Network.

Severity of Jordan Love’s injury still unknown

Jordan Love’s injury status remains unclear. Packers head coach Matt LaFleur told reporters when asked about Love’s status after the game, “I don’t know.”

Love appears to have avoided a serious anterior cruciate ligament injury, but that doesn’t mean he didn’t suffer structural damage elsewhere in his knee.

The upcoming MRI and all further tests will reveal everything about Love’s condition.
