Two billionaire daughters roll into the quarterfinals of the US Open

America’s super-rich continue to have a strong presence at the top of the tennis world after Jessica Pegula advanced to the US Open on Monday, reaching the quarterfinals alongside another billionaire’s daughter.

The 30-year-old Pegula, who is ranked sixth in the world and defeated Diana Schnaider in straight sets, is the daughter of Buffalo Bills and Buffalo Sabres owner Terry Pegula.

Emma Navarro, 23, the No. 13 seed and daughter of former Citigroup vice president Ben Navarro, advanced to the quarterfinals of the US Open after defeating third-seeded Coco Gauff in three sets on Sunday.

Pegula will play the winner of the fourth-round match between top-ranked Poland’s Iga Swiatek and Russia’s Liudmila Samsonova on Tuesday, while Navarro is scheduled to face Spaniard Paula Badosa (number 26).

It is the seventh time in her career that Pegula has reached the quarterfinals of one of the four majors, but she has never progressed further.

Pegula has been ranked as high as No. 3 in singles (with six titles) and No. 1 in doubles (seven titles), but has yet to win a Grand Slam title. Navarro, an NCAA singles champion, won her only tour title earlier this year in Australia and has reached her highest ranking of No. 12.
