“1,000 Lb. Sisters” star Amy Slaton arrested in a zoo

1,000 pound sisters Amy Slaton has found herself in trouble after her arrest at a zoo in Tennessee over Labor Day weekend.

According to a Monday, Sept. 2, Facebook post from the Crockett County Sheriff’s Department, police responded to an unusual incident at Tennessee Safari Park at Alamo, where a camel reportedly bit someone in Slaton’s group. However, when officers arrived on the scene, they were met by a strong, suspicious odor coming from their vehicle, prompting further investigation.

Slaton, 36, and her companion, Brian Scott Lovvorn, were subsequently arrested after police found illegal substances in the vehicle. They were charged with “illegal possession of Schedule I, illegal possession of Schedule VI and two counts of child endangerment.” Both Slaton and Lovvorn were booked into the Crockett County Jail, according to the post. The details of the camel bite remain unclear, as authorities have not released the identity of the victim or the extent of the injuries.

The post certainly drew a fair amount of comments, some criticizing the couple while others sympathized and felt the arrest was a bit harsh. “I’m worried about her kids. Where are they now?” asked one curious follower, while another inquired, “So like flower and concentrate made of THC?” A third asked the important question, “Wait, no one is talking about someone getting bitten by a camel and calling the police?!”

Other users pointed to her sister and TLC co-star Tammy Slaton. “They better do an episode about this. I want to hear what Tammy has to say,” said one fan, while another commented, “Tammy!! Girl come get your sister! 🤣”

“I just know the TLC producers are upset they didn’t catch this on camera for the show. Lmfao,” said a third.

Earlier this year, Slaton’s husband Michael Halterman filed for divorce after four years together. The couple has two sons together, Gage Deon (4) and Glenn Allen (2).
