Anna Fire Rescue opens Station 2

The development of the second fire station was made possible by a bond approved by voters.

Anna, Texas (August 26, 2024) – The City of Anna and Anna Fire Rescue celebrated the grand opening of the new Fire Station Two on Friday, August 23, 2024. This 1,950 square foot facility is a testament to the City’s commitment to public safety as Anna continues to grow and thrive.

Station Two, located west of US-75 and north of FM-455 in the Villages of Hurricane Creek development, was made possible by a voter-approved bond. The site for this station was generously provided to the City of Anna by the developer. Station Two’s strategic location is critical to improving emergency response times throughout the city, especially for neighborhoods closer to US-75 and along the highway corridor.

“The opening of Station Two was a significant advancement in our ability to serve and protect our rapidly growing community,” said Fire Chief Ray Isom. “This state-of-the-art facility is equipped with the latest technology and resources to ensure we can respond quickly and efficiently to emergencies and protect the lives and property of our neighbors.”

The new Fire Station Two features state-of-the-art amenities, including:

  • An intelligent station warning system to improve response times in emergency situations
  • Six pull-through equipment bays for accommodating front and reserve equipment
  • A special Anna Fire Rescue Museum, which features a fire engine from 1948
  • Sleeping accommodation for up to 10 people, complete with adjoining lounge, kitchen, dining area, terrace and gym
  • A September 11th memorial plaque honoring the heroes of September 11th

The ribbon-cutting ceremony, attended by city officials, local dignitaries and community members, was followed by an open house where attendees toured the facility and learned more about the work of Anna Fire Rescue. Fire Chief Ray Isom, Mayor Pete Cain and representatives from Crossland Construction and Conduit Architecture spoke at the event.

“As Anna continues to grow, we must continue to strive to protect and serve our neighbors,” said Mayor Pete Cain. “Fire Station Two is a symbol of our commitment to public safety and reflects the trust and support of our entire community.”
