This couple lost their first restaurant in a fire two years after starting their business – today they are the proud owners of 3 restaurants

Husband and wife Greg and Subrina Collier prevailed after their first business was lost in a fire.

The couple’s journey began in Memphis, Tennessee, when they met at a wings restaurant, according to CBS Mornings. They then moved to Phoenix, Arizona, as Greg was looking for a fresh start. He also believed that investing in his cooking skills was the best way to go, and Subrina supported him in his endeavor.

“I said if I go to Atlanta, I’ll just be a more rural person, or if I go to Chicago, I’ll be a cooler person. If I go to New Orleans, I’ll be a swamp person. So, I knew that I, to To find out who I was, I had to “A place where I didn’t think I existed,” he told the outlet.

The couple then spent five years in Arizona and married in 2010. At this point, Greg wanted to move back to the South and had his eye on Charlotte, NC. They could not afford the cost of rent in the area, which led them to Rock Hill, SC.

“There is a fire bowl that are our smoked chicken sauce biscuits and Jalapeno jam was one of the first things We have created a new menu, very especially because we had a fire,” Greg said.

According to WCOC-TV, Uptown Yolk Cafe faced another stumbling block after COVID-19 brought it to a halt and relocated to Charlotte’s South End..

“There are probably 12 to 15 businesses Owners or managers of companies that come through our restaurant group in some way,” notes Greg.

Subrina commented: “We have laid and so many seeds planted that no one take that from us. That is more important than any award you can get.”
