If you’ve seen an unusually high number of people saying “Yes, Chef” online today, it’s because Jeremy Allen White’s new campaign with Calvin Klein just dropped—and the “Yes, Chef” people are absolutely right.
Surely you remember White’s first campaign with Calvin Klein, which launched in January of this year. If you live in New York, you saw him in boxer briefs on a giant SoHo billboard, and if you don’t live in New York, you saw him all over your social media feeds in boxer briefs for a few weeks. It’s been a few months, but White is back with the basics brand and arguably better than ever. In a campaign photographed by Mert Alas, the 33-year-old actor is dressed in Calvin Klein’s fall 2024 collection, a classic, suntanned, all-American guy wearing jeans, boxer briefs, and little else.
“Calvin Klein’s aesthetic has always been timeless and it was great to be back with them and the entire creative team for this new campaign,” White said in a press release from the brand.
This is not Jeremy Allen White as we last saw him this summer in The bear (ie, laced with Carmy Berzatto’s anxiety and various neuroses). This is Jeremy Allen White, tall, confident, stylish, with plenty of skin and the innate smoothness that Calvin Klein always displays.
That’s Jeremy Allen White in a ripped denim vest and a black tank top that reveals his biceps, and guess what? He’s serving up raw, authentic Americana on a Bruce Springsteen level – and for the guy set to play Springsteen in his upcoming biopic, it’s just destiny to look like a young Bruce Springsteen against a Los Angeles backdrop.
Makes you wish the biopic was out already, doesn’t it? Calvin Klein is continuing its fall campaign throughout the season, so until it actually comes out, we’ll be getting by with Born in the USA on repeat and White’s Calvin Klein looks in our shopping carts.
