Easton CBD shop owner charged after raid uncovers illegal drugs

EASTON, Pennsylvania – The owners of an Easton cannabis store have been charged with possession of controlled substances with intent to resell after illegal drugs were found during a raid on the store, authorities said.

Charges were filed against David and Susanne Allocca, owners of Mindleaf CBD, 213 Cattell St., Easton, and co-owner Dawn Williams after an undercover agent purchased a jar labeled “Mindleaf Premium Hemp Flower,” the Northampton County District Attorney’s Office said in a news release.

The “hemp flower” was sent for testing and was found to contain marijuana, a controlled substance, the press release said.

During the search, “large quantities of marijuana, psychedelic mushrooms and various THC products such as vapes, cartridges, edibles and resin” were found.

It said the Northampton County Drug Task Force began investigating Mindleaf CBD in July and on July 31, the Northampton County Drug Task Force, Easton and Forks Township police, and state police simultaneously executed search warrants on David Allocca’s Forks Township business and residence.

During the search, “large quantities of marijuana, psychedelic mushrooms and various THC products such as vaporizers, cartridges, edibles and resin” were found, authorities said.

Additionally, unused jars and labels were found, leading authorities to believe “the marijuana was repackaged and sold as hemp at a higher price,” the press release said.

“A large quantity of marijuana and various THC products were found in the Alloccas’ apartment,” the press release states.

A pistol, a shotgun and an AR-15 rifle were also seized in the house, it is said.

In total, more than 1,800 illegal THC cartridges, more than 50 pounds of marijuana, 1,500 packages of THC edibles, two pounds of psychedelic mushrooms and 73 jars of marijuana labeled “Mindleaf CBD” were seized, authorities said.

The products had a street value of $500,000, it was said.
