PUEBLO, Colorado (KKTV) – The Pueblo County Sheriff’s Office received a burglary alert Monday evening.
Officers were en route to the 8000 block of Highway 165 in Rye, southwest of Pueblo, when they were notified that someone saw a truck with a trailer drive onto the property where three people had broken into.
The sheriff’s office said when they arrived at the home, they saw a man coming out the door with several bags. When officers and K9 Zeus arrived, he went back into the house.
A deputy ordered the man to leave the house or he would release Zeus. The sheriff’s office said the suspect, 62-year-old Gary Biby, left the house and was arrested.
The sheriff’s office said they entered the home with tracking dog Zeus to search for the other two suspects. Zeus alerted officers to a woman hiding under blankets in a bedroom.
The sheriff’s office said they repeatedly asked the second suspect, 28-year-old Tabitha Brooks, to come out of the blanket, but she refused.
Officers released sniffer dog Zeus on the woman and were able to arrest her, the sheriff’s office said.
They found the third suspect, 40-year-old Jake Jones, on the roof of the house. The sheriff’s office said they told Jones to come down or they would release K9 Zeus, and he immediately complied.
Officers said they seized the truck and found items from the house inside. They obtained a search warrant for the car and trailer.
The sheriff’s office said Jones, Biby and Brooks were all arrested for second-degree burglary, and Brooks was also arrested for identity fraud and six outstanding warrants. All three are being held in the Pueblo County Jail.
