Be prepared the next time you go to a Walmart in Bismarck

Never before in the past have Walmart customers had to worry about anything…

…but now things have changed, and it’s up to shoppers and customers to be prepared. Remember the days when there were no worries – maybe a coupon or two were just a little expired, but you encountered a friendly employee who eased your stress and embraced it – those days are long gone.

Don’t rely on being able to present your case to Walmart

The restrictions have changed, and you better get used to it. According to Coupons-in-the-News, “New policy changes have brought Walmart’s coupon policies in line with other retailers by eliminating overages, implementing limits on similar coupons, and making the checkout feature decline when a coupon is declined. Walmart hasn’t touched its coupon policies in nearly six years, so they went largely unnoticed last month when the policy posted online introduced several changes. People noticed after an image of what appears to be an internal memo made the rounds in online couponing groups informing store employees that the checkout software would be updated this week to automatically enforce the new policies.”

Your new policy says it very clearly

“Walmart will not refund money or apply any excess to the remaining items in the transaction if the value of a coupon is greater than the purchase value of the item.” So now you know to be prepared the next time you head to the nearest Walmart. Double and triple check your coupons before you leave the house.
