LYNCHBURG, Va. (WSET) — Holly and Steve Haddox’s dreams came true when they won the 2024 St. Jude Dream Home.
Five days after we pulled their names from the funnel, they were given a VIP tour of their new apartment.
When they first walked through the door, the Haddox were speechless.
“We’ll take it!” said Steve Haddox.
“Oh! There are pictures on the Internet, but they don’t do it justice,” said Holly Haddox.
Their great joy as they moved from room to room was absolutely contagious, especially when Holly saw the master bathroom.
“Look at this! Oh! I can sing in the shower and it will be like a recording studio,” Holly said.

From the main floor master bedroom to the kitchen/living area to the first floor bedrooms and bathroom, the Haddoxes enjoyed every moment of the initial tour.
“When I sent you that text, I felt like a kid waiting for Christmas morning!” said Holly.
“I can’t remember a Christmas like this!” Steve admitted.
The couple is also looking forward to spending time on the wraparound porch, where they plan to fire up the outdoor fireplace on cool evenings.
Scott Blankinship of Custom Structures oversaw the construction of the St. Jude Dream Home.
Blankinship showed the Haddoxes all sorts of gadgets.
“They will be blessed in this home for the rest of their lives in the short time we have known them,” Blankinship said.
“We are incredibly blessed,” said Holly. “Very blessed and grateful. I can’t wait to get here!”
