As part of a project by Stone Creek Construction Group, two restaurants have opened new branches in downtown Morristown and are operating them with a shared kitchen.
The 6,300-square-foot space at 9 Speedwell Ave. includes Parkside Tavern and Sushi Lounge, located in a former office building that Stone Creek demolished to the shell before doing extensive mechanical, electrical and plumbing work to convert it into restaurants with full kitchens.
Both also feature interior finishes with high-quality woodwork, Stone Creek said. The Matawan-based company added that the restaurants are the second and third restaurants its team has built in Morristown, following David Burke’s 1776 and the adjacent Topgolf Swing Suites on the Morristown Green.
“The Morristown dining scene is dynamic and evolving,” said Shelby Gasek, vice president and partner at Stone Creek. “It was a great opportunity to bring three concepts to life and we are excited to contribute to the city’s growth.”
In a press release, the company noted that Parkside Tavern is inspired by European neighborhood pubs and offers a menu of classic comfort food and a selection of beverages. Sushi Lounge, which relocated from another location in the city, offers a sleek, modern restaurant and lounge area serving Japanese fusion dishes and freshly prepared sushi.
