Eddie V’s Seafood plans first MD restaurant

GAITHERSBURG, MD — The first Maryland location of upscale seafood restaurant chain Eddie V’s Prime Seafood is reportedly planned for Gaithersburg.

As the MoCo Show first reported, the chain wants to build a 10,000-square-foot restaurant at 151 Lakelands Drive, at the corner of Lakelands Drive and Great Seneca Highway in Gaithersburg.

According to an application filed with the City of Gaithersburg, the company wants to build the venue to overlook Lake Varuna.

Eddie V’s is part of the Darden Restaurants Company, which also operates Capital Grille, Seasons 52, Olive Garden, Longhorn Steakhouse, Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse, Cheddar’s and other restaurant chains across the country. Eddie V’s has 30 restaurants nationwide, the only Eddie V’s in the region is located at Tyson’s Corner in McLean, Virginia.

A 6,000-square-foot restaurant is planned for the Gaithersburg site, MOCO 360 reported. The website states that Eddie V’s representatives contacted the property owners because the property offers a “waterfront dining experience,” a large population and easy access to nearby transportation routes.

Here’s how Eddie V’s Prime Seafood describes itself: “We’re known for our seafood, but our specialty is excellence. Fish from pristine waters around the world arrive daily, including Block Island swordfish, George Banks scallops, and yellowfin tuna from the Caribbean. USDA Prime steaks are hand-cut and specially aged for 28+ days to ensure the best flavor. Dedication to excellence is the guiding principle in everything we do. From making fresh tortillas by hand every day for our lobster tacos to using an entire half pound of jumbo lump crab meat in our crab cakes, we strive to go above and beyond the ordinary at every step of preparation. Our goal: to make the best meal you’ve ever had.”
