Beijing: Six people were killed in a fire at a store in the eastern Chinese province of Jiangsu.
Local Chinese sources said the fire broke out overnight in a shop in Suyu district of Suqian city. Four people died at the scene and two others later succumbed to their injuries in hospital despite medical efforts.
Later that night, the fire brigade managed to bring the fire under control. The fire had spread over an area of about 200 square metres.
Authorities have launched an investigation to determine the cause of the fire.
