Woman robbed in Gompers Park; attempted carjacking reported in Sauganash; shots fired in police parking lot – Nadig Newspapers

According to police from the 17th Precinct (Albany Park), a woman reported being robbed by two men on Tuesday, August 6, at approximately 4:10 p.m.

The 21-year-old woman said she was walking her dog on the north trail of South Gompers Park when two men wearing ski masks approached her from behind. One of the men pressed the barrel of a gun into her back, demanded her belongings in Spanish and took her purse containing $250 in cash, police said.

The woman said the other man then held a knife to her stomach, took a gold chain from her neck and then punched her once in the face, police said.

According to police, the woman stated that the men fled west. The man with the gun was described as white/Hispanic, 18 years old, 6’0″ tall, wearing a black jacket, black pants and black sneakers. The man with the knife was described as white/Hispanic, 18 to 30 years old, 5’7″ tall, wearing a brown shirt and blue shorts.

According to police from the 17th Precinct (Albany Park), a man reported that his vehicle was shot at after two men attempted to steal his car in the 4000 block of West Peterson Avenue around 3:30 a.m. on Tuesday, July 30.

The 61-year-old man said he was driving east on Peterson Street and was waiting at a red light when two men got out of a white Bronco, pointed guns at him and tried to open the doors of his vehicle, police said.

The man said he backed up and fled when the men fired several shots at his vehicle, police said. The man said his vehicle was shot in the front left side and the two men fled south on Pulaski Road, police said.

The two men were described as black and wearing black ski masks.

A man reported that another man shot at his car around 10:20 a.m. Tuesday, July 30, as he pulled into the parking lot of the 17th (Albany Park) Precinct Police Station, 4650 N. Pulaski Road, police said.

According to police, officers at the station heard four gunshots and saw a man running north on Pulaski toward the station.

The 25-year-old man said he had dropped his children off at his mother’s house when the driver of a black Audi sport utility vehicle began pursuing his vehicle, police said. The man said the Audi followed him south on Kimball from Sunnyside to Irving Park, west on Irving to Elston, northwest on Elston to Pulaski and then north on Pulaski, police said. The man said he was trying to get to the station and that the driver of the Audi fired several shots as he pulled into the parking lot, police said. Officers said there were three bullet holes in the tailgate of the man’s vehicle, as well as a bullet hole in the right corner of his rear bumper, police said. No injuries were reported, and officers found four empty .40-caliber shell casings in the roadway, police said.
