“I’m in shock”: Regina Hill finds her house ransacked when she returns to collect her things. This is what it looked like

ORANGE COUNTY, Florida. – Former Orlando City Councilwoman Regina Hill returned to the home of a 96-year-old woman she allegedly exploited to pick up her belongings on Friday.

A News 6 photographer was with Hill when she entered the house and found it in disarray.

“I just came in after not being able to come in for five months,” Hill said. “My TVs were stolen from all over the house. Everything was ransacked.”

Hill was arrested in March on charges of exploiting the elderly woman and spending more than $100,000 of her money. He also used the woman’s money for cosmetic surgery, car insurance and travel.

A judge had originally ordered Hill to stay away from three of the elderly woman’s homes while criminal proceedings proceeded, but earlier this week Hill was allowed access to the homes in Lewis Court and Domino Drive to retrieve her own belongings.

News 6 photojournalist Alex Cook followed Hill into the Lewis Court home, which Hill said had already been ransacked.

“The (power of attorney) didn’t want me here anymore, effective immediately. I couldn’t come back even though my stuff was here, so they just held onto it,” Hill explained. “My lawyers kept asking them to allow me to come back in and make sure they had my stuff properly secured. (Orlando police) kept warning them that the house had been broken into, and they never secured it.”

Hill added that cabinets had been ripped out, the washer and dryer were gone, and all of her jewelry, clothes and shoes were missing. She also couldn’t find an urn containing her brother’s ashes.

“I’m shocked. They lived here and slept in the beds,” Hill said. “The neighbors said there was prostitution going on there. When the police came, there were people taking a shower.”

Despite the damage, Hill told News 6 she doesn’t blame the police.

“The police took it seriously. They reacted a lot,” she explained. “And who didn’t react properly were the lawyer, the (agent) and the real estate agent. The police did exactly what they were supposed to do. In fact, they arrested two people here.”

Since her arrest in March, Hill has denied any wrongdoing and believes she will be vindicated as her case progresses. Her trial is currently scheduled for September 30.

Meanwhile, News 6 has learned that the 96-year-old woman who allegedly exploited Hill has been moved to a nursing home.
