Sixers star Paul George ranked fifth-best small forward in the league

The Philadelphia 76ers were able to implement their free agency plan by signing Paul George. The Sixers signed George to a 4-year, $212 million contract and he is expected to help Philadelphia make the jump to the Eastern Conference.

After a season in which he averaged 22.6 points, 5.2 rebounds and 3.5 assists while shooting 41.3% from beyond the arc, George is still one of the best players in the game. He’s a nine-time All-Star and should fit perfectly alongside Joel Embiid and Tyrese Maxey.

HoopsHype ranked George 5th on its list of the 30 best small forwards in the league:

Still, George can make extremely difficult shots against even the best defenses, making him a star among the game’s best shooters. He just relies on those difficult shots a little too often, which can prove costly in close games down the line. When his shooting technique isn’t working, George’s impact on offense also diminishes significantly, as he’s not the type of player who can get to the basket or the free throw line at any time to score easy points.

George will be the perfect addition to the perimeter defense to slot in between the two established stars. He’s the winger Philadelphia has needed for some time, and he’ll be someone who will score in the most crucial moments. On paper, this is probably the most talented team the Sixers have built around Embiid going forward.
