Oneida Indian Nation begins million expansion of Point Place Casino

The Oneida Indian Tribe has begun construction on the Point Place Casino in Bridgeport, New York, and is planning a $50 million expansion of the property, tribal officials announced in a press release Tuesday.

Point Place Casino is owned by the Oneida Indian Nation and is a Turning Stone Enterprises company

Local elected officials, community leaders, construction industry partners and team members gathered at the casino to celebrate the Oneida Indian Tribe’s investment in Madison County.

Point Place Casino is owned by the Oneida Indian Tribe and part of Turning Stone Enterprises. The casino is a smoke-free gaming and entertainment venue with over 500 slot machines. It also offers table games, TS Sports, Perfect Pour Cafe, Burgers of Madison County and the Fireside Lounge.

“When we built Point Place Casino six years ago, we had a vision of what it could become as an entertainment destination and economic engine for this community,” said Ray Halbritter, representative of the Oneida Indian Nation and CEO of Turning Stone Enterprises, in a statement.

“As with everything we do, this vision was guided by the understanding that if you don’t grow, you go backwards. That’s been our motto in all of our businesses. (It’s) why we’re so committed to constant diversification and growth.”

Onedia Indian Nation has also invested in two expansions to its gaming floor and Caesars Sportsbook.

The Oneida Indian Tribe has made multiple investments in Point Place Casino since it opened in 2018. Investments include two gaming floor expansions and the introduction of Caesars Sportsbook. The Perfect Pour Café was also added to the casino.

Further expansion of Point Place Casino will include a new 100-room luxury hotel and a new restaurant. Renovations will also include a new perfect satellite location for the Pour Café in the hotel lobby, a new event space and doubling the size of the existing gaming area.

Additionally, an upgrade to the Fireside Lounge is listed as a renovation project. The goal is to double the current size and add a 360-degree view of the wood-burning fireplace with cozy new seating.

The 6,000 square meter gaming and dining facility features a modern Las Vegas-style gaming area. Popular games on offer include electronic roulette and Big Six.

The investment in the property will create more than 200 jobs in the construction industry

The Oneida Tribe’s investment in the property will also create over 200 construction jobs. This project is expected to boost regional tourism and will also create new opportunities for the Turning Stone Enterprises team members.

“The Oneida Indian Tribe has created many good things that have impacted this region and benefited us all, from its contribution to achieving American independence two and a half centuries ago to the significant economic role it plays in our county today,” said Jim Cunningham, chairman of the Madison County Board of Supervisors, in a statement.

“So many good jobs have been created in Central New York and we are so lucky to have the nation here.”

Another investment includes the installation of the Nation’s new Play On slot machine at the Verona Crossroads shopping center. The Nation also owns the Turning Stone Resort Casino in Verona.
