A touch of Hollywood was felt in the Motor City on Friday when “Lord of the Rings” actor Elijah Wood stopped by the popular lunch/brunch spot Dime Store in downtown Detroit.
“OMG, OMG, OMG,” staff posted on the restaurant’s social media pages. “We were in total geek mode in Detroit today when our buddy from the Shire, Frodo Baggins, dined with us at the Dime Store. Actor and producer Elijah Wood, best known for his role in ‘The Lord of the Rings,’ brought smiles and excitement to staff and guests alike, because let’s be honest, who doesn’t love Frodo?! He’s a super nice guy by all accounts and even took the time to take photos with our staff.
“Thanks for being such a good sportsman, Elijah. We’re huge fans; it was truly an honor to have you as our guest.”

Wood is no stranger to the Detroit area; as a celebrity guest at the 2021 Motor City Comic Con, he even helped a man propose to his girlfriend.
