New donut shop opens in Lawrence • Current Publishing

Pana Donuts and Boba Tea has opened its newest store at 11720 Fox Road in Lawrence, its eighth in the greater Indianapolis area.

Owner Aaron Sok said he set a goal to expand the store after successful openings in Fishers and Indianapolis. The Lawrence location opened on July 25.

“Through social media, many customers are saying, ‘This is a good doughnut,'” Sok said. “All the people in the community have welcomed us. We are very happy to see them.”

Sok said Pana’s most popular products are apple fritters and doughnuts. The boba teas are milk- or fruit-based and vary in flavor with different boba pearls, bite-sized, chewy tapioca balls.

The restaurant also serves breakfast rolls, cappuccinos, coffee and smoothies.

Sok said Lawrence Mayor Deborah Whitfield stopped by on opening day to welcome the new store and purchased three boxes of doughnuts. Sok said he was grateful for her support, as well as the city’s social media posts about the new location.

“I can’t really describe it, but I’m happy and excited,” Sok said. “I was busy on the first day of the grand opening and the mayor came by. I can’t really describe how I can be so happy.”
