“They’re coming to get you,” another tobacco shop was the victim of a burglary on Tuesday

COLORADO SPRINGS – Another tobacco shop in Colorado Springs has fallen victim to a lightning break-in.

According to Glass Act Smoke Shop, their store on North Academy Boulevard was the latest target in a series of break-ins at smoke shops in Colorado Springs.

The incident was captured on surveillance video from the store and provided to News5, showing a Kia sedan crashing into the store’s facade just after 5:00 a.m. Tuesday morning. The vehicle remained at the scene, but it is unclear if it was stolen.

In the video, six people are seen entering the store and taking items off the shelves. The owners do not know how much was stolen, but estimate the damage and loss of items amounts to several thousand dollars.

Glass Act Smoke Shop Employee Warns Other Businesses to Prepare

Jacob Lumbon, an employee at Glass Act Smoke Shop, spoke to us on site. He said he moved to Colorado Springs from Miami to start a new life and expected to feel safer in Colorado Springs. But since he moved here, crime has increased.

News5 reached out to Colorado Springs Police on Tuesday morning for comment on the incident and to see how far police have progressed with the investigation. As of the time of this article’s publication, the office has not yet responded to us.

On Monday, another smoke shop was closed in Colorado Springs, just 24 hours before this incident. The owners of Speedy’s Smoke Shop told our editors that approximately $10,000 worth of damage and loss of property was reported.
