The West Chicago Food Fest offers delicious treats and musical delights

The West Chicago Food Festival will take place again on Saturday, August 24th, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. and promises a varied program of culinary delights and entertainment for every taste.

“A mix of lively music, delicious food and exciting family activities is always a top priority at this festival,” said Nicolette Stefan, the city’s special events coordinator. “We hope everyone enjoys the returning classics and some of the exciting new additions this year.”

The festivities begin at 4:00 p.m. on the main stage on Galena Street with a performance by Alika Arlyn, who will play original music and popular covers, setting the tone for an evening of live music and entertainment.

At 5:30pm, 28 Days take the stage with a high-energy set consisting of a mix of popular hits, followed by Good Clean Fun at 7pm, promising a rousing performance that will get everyone dancing.

In addition to the music, families can enjoy a variety of activities from 4-7pm. Talented face painters, balloon artists and caricaturists will be on hand to add a dash of fun and creativity.

From 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. a juggler will perform and at 6.30 p.m. the Funny Little People will entertain with their bizarre act.

Additionally, event attendees can watch a live demonstration of a chalk art mural celebrating West Chicago’s 175th anniversary.

As the centerpiece of the event, attendees can enjoy a feast like no other, with over 15 food vendors offering everything from delicious donuts and cheese pizza to tasty tacos and sizzling steak sandwiches.

Food vendors include: Dave’s Holy Smokes BBQ, Aunt Tina’s Sound Bites, Billy Bricks Pizza, Cousins ​​Maine Lobster, Derek’s Dairy, Grumpy Gaucho, Hello Boba, Hippie Gourmet Grilled Cheese, Jodi Mac Sweets & Treats, Kathryn’s Place, Kernel Dan’s Kettle Corn, Kissed by Fire, Mini Donuts, Poupee Puf Cotton Candy, Rebecca’s Cake by Design, sno problems, Taco Shop and The Tiki Terrace.

Additionally, adults 21 and older can enjoy refreshing beverages available at Hawthorne’s Backyard Bar & Grill to complement the culinary delights.

Admission to the Food Festival is free, so gather your friends and family to enjoy this exciting community event and explore downtown West Chicago. Coolers and outside food or drinks are not permitted, but visitors are encouraged to bring their own seating for convenience.

Parking is available at 124 Freemont St., the Metra parking lot at 508 Main St., the Republic Bank parking lot at 101 Main St., the West Chicago Bible Church parking lot at Chicago Avenue and Fulton Street, and the Western DuPage Chamber of Commerce parking lot at 306 Main St.
