Authorities investigate car-ramming incidents outside two gun shops in Florence

FLORENCE, Ky. (WXIX) – Florence police and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives are investigating two incidents in which a car plowed into two gun stores over the weekend.

The first incident occurred on Friday at Triggers in Florence. According to president and owner Rodney Williams, he received a notification from his security at around 4:42 a.m.

When he arrived at the store, he saw a Kia still running and the facade of his store was destroyed.

He stated that a vehicle collided with the front of the store, causing approximately $100,000 in damage. According to surveillance footage, Williams saw six men, many wearing face masks, running through the store and stealing merchandise.

According to Boone County dispatchers, a similar situation occurred at Range USA on Sunday morning. The vehicle was unoccupied and no injuries were reported, dispatchers said.

The extent of the damage to Range USA is currently unknown.

Law enforcement authorities have specified what and how much was stolen.

Authorities have not said whether anyone has been arrested in connection with the incidents.

FOX19 NOW reached out to Range USA’s corporate headquarters, but there was no response.

The police and ATF investigation is still ongoing.
