Registration deadline for College Station and Bryan City Council and School Board elections ends – WTAW

The filing deadline for the November city council and school board elections in College Station and Bryan ended Monday (August 19).

As of Monday, August 19, 5:45 p.m.

There are three contested races for the College Station City Council seat.

David White and Valen Cepak are running for the third seat. Linda Harvell is not eligible to run again for the third seat due to term limits.

Aron Collins, Craig Regan and Melissa McIlhaney are running for the fourth seat. Incumbent Elizabeth Cunha has decided not to run for re-election.

In fifth place, incumbent Bob Yancy is running for re-election.

Tre Watson and Scott Shafer are running for the sixth seat. Dennis Maloney is not eligible to run again for the sixth seat due to term limits.

On Friday afternoon (August 16), Craig Regan switched his candidacy from the sixth seat on the College Station Council to the fourth seat. The switch came after Shafer filed for the sixth seat.

All four incumbent Bryan City Council members have filed for re-election. And all incumbents have opponents.

Incumbent Jared Salvato, who is running for single-member district three, is being challenged by Robert Achgill.

Incumbent James Edge, who is running for single-member constituency four, is being challenged by Shane Savage.

Incumbent Marca Ewers-Shurtleff, who is running for single-member constituency five, faces Patrick Giammalva as her opponent.

Incumbent Kevin Boriskie, who has filed for the citywide position, is being challenged by Justin Wager.

One person applied for each of the two positions on the College Station ISD School Board.

Darin Paine is seeking his second term as an at-large member of the first Parliament.

Kristin Wilson has filed for second place. Incumbent Blaine Decker has decided not to seek re-election.

Two people have filed to run for Bryan ISD school board.

David Stennis has filed for the district-level seat. Incumbent Mark McCall has decided not to seek re-election.

Ruthie Waller, who is seeking her fourth term as representative of BISD’s fourth single-member constituency, is being challenged by former Bryan City Councilor Buppy Simank.
