WATERFORD – The Waterford Community Fair concluded its 65th year on Sunday.
The last day of the fair began at 8 a.m. with a color presentation and continued at 9 a.m. with a church service.
Although Sunday was not as packed with events as other days of the fair, there was still plenty for people to experience.
Waterford resident David Rankin attended the service on Sunday with his nieces Grace Conley (9) and Emma Conley (11), who also come from Waterford.
“We come every year” Said Rankin.
They all enjoyed corn on the cob while strolling around the fairgrounds early Sunday afternoon.
Emma Conley said her favorite part of the fair was “the trips.”
Her sister Grace Conley had a different answer. She said her favorite part of the mass was “the food.”
Four-year-old Branson Huck of Cutler, Ohio, was also at the fair on Sunday with his mother, Ann Huck.
In addition to food, there were vendors and booths with information about the Future Farmers of America, the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and more.
There were also events where visitors could watch, such as tractor pedal pulling.
At the event, children sat on a child-friendly device with pedals that looked like a tractor. Then the children pedaled as hard and fast as they could to pull a weight behind them and see how far they could go.
According to Ann Huck, Branson Huck came to the show because of the tractors, especially the pedal tractor pulling.
This was Branson Huck’s first year participating in pedal tractor pulling, Ann Huck said.
“He is obsessed with tractors,” she said.
Branson Huck did his best at pedal tractor pulling and received a ribbon for his participation in the event.
Ann Huck also likes tractors and said they were her favorite part of the fair, too.
Later in the day, visitors had the opportunity to see more tractors at a truck and tractor pull at 4 p.m.
On Sunday evening, fairgoers had the opportunity to enjoy the rides, which opened at 5:30 p.m.
The Waterford Community Fair took place from Thursday to Sunday.
