Chandigarh: After the railway line was closed for around 36 days, Platform number 1 of Chandigarh railway station was reopenedWe are now waiting for an order to close platforms 2 and 3, as the company commissioned to expand the station has requested that the two platforms be closed for 12 days.
Mandeep Singh Bhatia, Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) of Ambala, said that the request to close platforms 2 and 3 has been sent to the Railway Ministry for approval and final approval is awaited. “Maybe we will get approval by August 19 or 20,” he added. He said that all trains departing from, arriving at or passing through platforms 2 and 3 would be divided between platforms 1, 4, 5 and 6. He added that no trains would be cancelled or rescheduled.
