Restaurant inspection records in Dutchess County show that 15 dining establishments had five or more violations in July, according to the latest data from New York State.

A country club in Pawling had nine serious violations in July, including improper reheating of food and the presence of unauthorized, spoiled or adulterated food on the premises. A Chinese restaurant in Dover Plains had seven non-serious violations in July, including dirty food-contact surfaces and improper food protection.

Several other restaurants were cited for failing to properly refrigerate food, improperly using or storing sanitized equipment, and failing to protect food from cross-contamination. In many cases, follow-up inspections of the restaurants revealed no violations.

Inspection reports are public documents, and the online database at data.poughkeepsiejournal.com contains the results of inspections in Poughkeepsie and across New York. Readers can see when a facility was last inspected and get a summary of violations found by inspectors.
