Hesperia Recreation and Park District begins first solar projects around Hesperia – VVNG.com

HESPERIA, Calif. (VVNG.com) – The Hesperia Recreation and Park District (HRPD) is about to launch an ambitious initiative to deploy solar energy at multiple facilities.

Community members are invited to attend groundbreaking ceremonies at various locations as the district increasingly embraces greener energy solutions.

This strategic shift underscores HRPD’s commitment to reducing its carbon footprint and promoting environmental sustainability. Solar energy, known for its versatility, is used to power various functions such as lighting, electricity, water heating and more.

“Using solar energy helps make the power grid more resilient and reduce electricity costs. We look forward to the countless opportunities and projects we can realize in the future with the power of solar energy,” said HRPD representatives.

List of foundation stone laying ceremonies:

  • Rick Novack Community Center: August 26, 2024 – 8-9am
  • Percy Bakker Community Center: August 26, 2024 – 12-1pm
  • Lime Street Community Center: September 3, 2024 – 9am-10am
  • Epicenter: September 16, 2024 – 9 a.m. to 10 a.m.
  • Hesperia Community Park: September 30, 2024 – 9 a.m. to 10 a.m.
