Weekly Sales Report 8.16 – The Mom Edit

Hi, hi! Are you feeling a bit of… autumn breeze? August is one of the most beautiful months of the year in my opinion. It’s still mostly sunny and warm (okay, hot), but with light notes of burning wood, rustling leaves and a chilly future in the air. I’m totally blown away right now.

Something I’ve been searching for at our favorite retailers is a line of little dresses that are perfect for transitioning between hot and really cold days (this requires multiple layers and maybe tights, but it works regardless). I’ve been wearing one almost every day—the ease of my last outfit is somehow unmatched. Some of the best summer-fall dresses on sale right now: this one from Reformation, this one at Social Threads (TME15 for 15% off), and this one from Farm Rio at Saks. Perfection.

THE 5 BEST DEALS THIS WEEKEND

reformation – 30% off! This dress and cashmere sweater went straight into my cart. (Ooo, I’m definitely going to wear these together in the fall.) Shana’s cute striped polo sweater is also included (but almost sold out – so grab it fast!).

Nordstrom Rack – Countless brands reduced by up to 60%. Top finds: these cool leopard jeans, these rubber boots in “Shifting Blue” and the Laura Mercier Caviar Eye Stick, which S swears by for the fastest smokey eye always.

Shopbop – 20% off Beauty with code BEAUTY20. This from Wonder Valley is the best smelling shower gel ever (if you like Hinoki and earthy scents), this Ceremonia scalp scrub works Wonder and these Goop detox bath salts do exactly what the little description promises, haha.

Social issues – Use code TME15 for 15% off your order until August 27th. Our fall collection is here and it’s really good. Namely this chic tank top, these wide leg jeans and this chic long sleeve shirt.

anthropology – This weekend only, save up to 30% on fall fashion favorites. It’s almost bomber jacket season, so this basic navy piece is rent free in my eyes – oh, and these pretty blue birches are $50 off.

Cool pants, jeans (of course), transitional pieces and more editors’ favorites on offer

Check out more special offers from the editors below! Cheers to another summer weekend.

Hey Friday! I hope school started off well for everyone who started. Here in the Pacific Northwest, we’re still waiting about 10 days before it starts up again. I have a kid in middle school now and honestly, what the heck. This parenting shit is crazy, guys. My girlfriend even made us dinner last night. Ok, this is the less heartbreaking part of parenting, I’ll admit. LOL. Tonight is book club and if you knew my book club, you’d be totally into it too. We always read a book, some of us haven’t missed one and we’ve read some incredible books, but it’s more of a social club with a few books thrown in and we’re having a blast. Tonight we’re having real Mai Tais on the menu and uh, yummy.

I’m mostly checking out Gap’s Friend’s and Family sale this weekend and damn, it’s good. Found some BTS stuff for the teen (this one, cute!) and gahhh, I want that bomber jacket for myself. I’d probably put a cool tiger patch on it. Everything is 40% off + an extra 10% for members. At Nordstrom, I’ve got my eye on this Free People top… really into square neck tops right now since I remembered they look good on me. Try them again if you haven’t in a while!

Pants (MP) | Jeans (30)

ONE: I’ve loved these tulip hem linen pants from Caslon for years and now they’re back on sale. They’re just a fun, easy, comfortable pair of warm weather pants with that great little ankle detail that sets them apart. This picture was taken just the other day. Still worn a lot! TTS. I wear MP but I think I’d go for a regular length M now. | Shirt

TWO: These white wide leg jeans from Gap on sale are the only white jeans I’ve loved for ages. Sizes are slowly selling out but there are still long lengths left and if needed you can shorten them to the length you want. I went up a size as they are white. | Cardigan

Hey! I’ll keep this short because I’m going to our local state park with my brothers and our family Irish Setter, Clyde (aka my best friend, as most dog owners would understand). Have I mentioned how obsessed I am with fresh August air? Hehe, yes, that was me waxing poetic in the intro. I can’t stress my love enough. Happy beginning and ending to all who celebrate! Love you.

To salads!! (LOL, I was going to write “To sales!!” but of course I had to leave it at that. To. salads. Here we go.)

Pants (M) | Cardigan (on offer with code TME15) | Dress (4)

ONE: My most worn bottoms of the summer (yeeeeeeessss…not denim shorts. We’re taking a break right now. Maybe we’ll get back together next summer. Who knows.) = these linen cargo pants from Gap. Gosh, they make any top look 10x cooler. Get an additional 40% off at checkout…so under $40!!

TWO: I tried on this Ref dress because Shana had it hanging in our office (haha…hi, S) and fell in love. I was so glad I waited to order it because it’s 30% off right now – just over $100. I’m a sucker for A. linen, B. mini dresses, and C. unique prints, so this one was definitely a winner.

School has started again here, which means I’m back to packing lunches – with love and hate (or is it love-hate?). Feel free to follow me. To be completely honest, I usually feel extremely motivated for the first month or so and then it gets pretty miserable – but hey, full is full, right? (The does still applies when they are 9 and 2 years old, right?)

Sale! Sizes are going fast on this gorgeous indigo dress, but the patchwork design and draping are just too pretty not to mention—and then there’s the price (with an additional 40% off, it’s $54). Abby’s IG post showing off her Farm Rio dresses made me fall in love with the brand all over again, and these shorts are the kind of piece I love to pull out summer after summer. And I can’t remember the last time I clicked through a pair of jeans so quickly. The contrast stitching just adds so much oomph to an otherwise very comfortable style. Also available in standard, petite, tall, and plus.

Did we talk about that onesie thing? Ugh, I can’t remember. (Mom brain in the first week of school is really a…

My kid and I both caught colds this week, but I’ve found that the best part about getting sick at the same time is that we get to hang out in bed together all day and look at our screens. Well, mostly… he still has that magical toddler energy that suddenly makes him want to play with toys and run around the house (How!?) and I could only get through it with … DayQuil. How do mothers manage without DayQuil!?

As I sit here, a sniffling wreck, I can assure you that the big sale at Gap is worth breaking up the hectic back-to-school rush. The deals are insane (I’m grabbing this – will live in it – and this – because oh my god, this pressure)!! And although I’ve considered the Gap polo shirt, I’ve found this one that suits my preferences much better – I just have to decide on a color (I’m leaning towards dusty pink or navy blue).

Jeans (28, Long) | Cardigan (L)

ONE: These jeans (40% off!!!) are so light it’s actually shocking. This is SUPER awesome when it comes to a pair of baggy jeans because often all the extra fabric makes the jeans heavy and cumbersome to wear all day long. This “UltraSoft” pair gives any other pair of baggy jeans a run for their money. More washes but I loved how the darker color gave it almost a pant look.

TWO: The lighter, creamier color of this cashmere cardigan is currently on sale! It’s already oversized so I could have easily gotten a medium and still had the perfect slouchy look. It’s so soft, beautifully made, and a staple that I treated myself to ALL winter last year. Check out the entire 30% off section at Reformation, it includes this other chic cardigan (the details are so pretty) as well as all the other Ref treasures that rarely go on sale – run!
